Happy Birthday Sophia!

We had Sophia's 2nd birthday party a few weekends ago (where has the time gone!) This time last year Tyler was only a few months old and didn't participate in the 1st birthday party festivities all that much (actually sleeping through most of it)  This year he was ready to go, getting himself involved in all the fun and making sure to test drive all Sophia's new toys (throwing a little nap in there too just to take the edge off)!  As always a great day watching our little boy do his thing!

Tyler enjoying cousin Sophia's birthday present......he loved watching his cousin jump and trying to get a little air himself.

Exhausted from all that jumpin!

Come on PopPop time to go play in my house.

CAPE MAY 2011

Picture compliments of Leenie Rickert

Our annual trip to Cape May was a few weeks ago. What a difference from last year; Tyler was 6 weeks old, Mike was only with us for 2 days of our trip, and Mommy was still trying to figure out how to do this Mom thing (I'm actually still trying to figure that out)!

2010                                     2011

This year was a wonderful....not necessarily the relaxing vacations of the past, but so much fun watching our little guy run all over the beach. Tyler had a great time exploring all the new things and wore himself out daily - which meant great naps and great night sleeps (every parents dream come true!)  We had a wonderful week and love that our little boy enjoys Cape May as much as we do.

Fun family trip to the zoo-much like Tyler's 1st birthday he didn't have too much interest in the animals at the zoo but he did find the "tttttrrreeee" very interesting

Lots of giggles with Grammy & PopPop

Wedding weekend

A few weekends ago we headed up to Lake George for Uncle Chris & Aunt Kendy's wedding. We had a great time enjoying the family time, the weather and the beautiful scenario there.

Our entire little family was involved in the wedding which meant lots of craziness leading up to the big event. Mainly it meant mommy trying to keep her little man under control and happy without ripping or staining one of our outfits! Unfortunately mom wasn't that great at keeping the camera out during the weekend (probably because I was too busy chasing after the little trouble maker!) but here are a few I took and I stole from others.

                                       The beautiful bride and groom....Congrats!!!

Our little stud.....

Kathryn did great during picture time....Tyler on the other hand wanted to do nothing but pick up rocks and walk down the hill

In an effort to prevent Tyler from having a meltdown during the ceremony....I wanted to make sure his belly was full.  This was an adventure since I stupidly brought blueberry puree and was wearing a yellow dress!  Luckily we made it out without any damage.

4th of July!

We spent our 4th of July weekend upstate again this year.  We made the trip up to visit everyone and to attend Aunt Leenie and Uncle Brian's 4th of July BBQ.  It was a great weekend and Tyler got to catch up with the family....and do lots of playing, eating and snuggling.

Tyler's first experience with the sandbox...only a few handfuls of sand ended up in his mouth

And here he is Mr. Perfect...either smiling or sleeping

First haircut!

As I'm sure you can see in the previous posts Tyler's hair is getting very long. Daddy has been asking for months to take his boy for a haircut....but the rule is not until after there first birthday. Not sure where the rule came from, but I am following it! We didn't have a chance to get the haircut done in NJ so we took him to a place in Clifton Park. Since Tyler refused his nap earlier in the day we were a bit nervous as to how he would do having a stranger touching him - but he did great! He had a great time looking around, watching daddy blow bubbles and checking himself out in the mirror (yet another thing that he gets from daddy!). Didn't think it was possible- but he was even more handsome after the haircut. He is already to go for Uncle Chris and Aunt Kendy's wedding!

Ok I'm ready to go!

See what a good boy I'm being....

Yay bubbles!

Ok time for a little snack while I watch some cartoons

The finished product...what a handsome devil!

Play time with Sophia

We headed upstate for 4th of July weekend. We had a great time relaxing and watching our little guy play with his cousin Sophia and Grammy & PopPop. We have learned that Tyler LOVES wagon rides and dropping rocks into the sewers. The endless amounts of fun at Grammy & PopPop's.

PopPop's dream come true....his grandchildren in his little red wagon!  Tyler loves being chauffeured around - demanding "mahhh mahhh" whenever PopPop stopped to take a break

Sophia's turn to lead the way...she prefers being outside the wagon and Tyler just loves to ride!

Dropping rocks into the sewer.  Sophia was nice enough to share her rocks with Tyler.

Tyler exhausted after a day of playing....so tired he couldn't even eat his cookie!

Bruiser...

Tyler had his first bad fall a few weeks ago.  Since our boy won't sit still for a second, it has become increasingly harder to give him a bath without a slip and fall in the tub.  Unfortunately this slip and fall was pretty bad - resulting in a few cuts and a black eye.  No worries within minutes he was back to his old self jumping and screaming like a mad man!
