Low key weekend....

Last weekend was a nice low key weekend for the Onyon's.  Most of the weekend was spent at home hanging out enjoying having nothing to do.  Ms. Aubree and Adam came over on Friday for play time and then met up again on Sunday for a walk and lunch.   It was a great weekend with lots of laughs while we watched our boy do his thing and get into all kinds of trouble!

Tyler prefers to dump the cheerios all over the floor and then eat them off the floor.  At least he's eating food and not paper!

Weekend fun!

A few weekends ago Mike's friend from Chicago came for a visit. Times have changed a little post Tyler so having visitors no longer means late nights out and morning hangovers!   Instead we've moved to mid afternoon bbq's and early bedtimes (at least for Mommy!)  To show Jeff a little glimpse of our life we had some friends over with their little ones.  Tyler's friends Miles and Adam came over for some fun in the sun.  It was a beautiful day with lots of splashing for the little ones and some good eats and drinks for the adults.  Big thanks to Jeff for blowing up the kiddie pools that none of the kids wanted anything to do with!

It didn't take long for Jeff and Tyler to become buds......

Splash time with Adam and Miles....I can't believe how big our boys are getting!

Our baby boy is 1!

For Tyler's actual birthday we had a big day planned. Both Mommy and Daddy took off work to spend the day with their little boy.The day started with a trip to the Dr for his one year check-up and a few shots :(   Afeter that it was nothing but fun! At least Mommy and Daddy had fun!

We kicked off the day bright and early, headed to the dr for the not so fun business and then off to Mc Donlads for some breakfast. This was Tyler's first experience at Mc D's and he seemed to thoroughly enjoy it. He wolfed down his pancakes and kep Mommy and Daddy laughing with his mischievous little smile and continuous tossing of his sippy cup across the room!

Mmmm pancakes

After Mc D's off to the zoo we went. Within about 20 minutes of being there Tyler fell asleep. So Mommy and Daddy enjoyed the zoo while Tyler took a little nap. After he woke up we brought him back to some of the spots we thought he would like best (monkeys, ducks, penguins and fishies).

Let me at those monkeys Dad!

Enjoying a cold beverage while watching his little pengiun friends
After a full morning of excitement we went home to relax a little bit and try to get some more sleep into our little man(always a struggle!). Mommy broke the rules a bit and let her little guy nap on her (why not it's his birthday!)  After an afternoon of relaxing we took a stroll into town and got our little boy some ice cream (we figured after the cake incident we should avoid it for a little while). Surprisingly he wanted nothing to do with it and turned his head each time we tried to give him some. Oh well more for us!

The day was just amazing and Mommy and Daddy enjoyed every minute of it. It's hard to believe that our baby boy is one.  Feels like yestserday we were holding our little angel in the hosptial trying to figure out what the heck to do next!   It's been a year filled with lots of laughs, lots of tears, lots of smiles and lots of love. The love we feel for this little boy is unexplainable and we cherish every second we have with him! We love you very much Tyler Bear :)

Presents....Presents....Presents!

We decided against opening presents at the party. With the amount of people and the craziness of having everyone pile into the house while trying to explain to other kids that the toys weren't for them....we just waited until the next morning. I wish I could say that Tyler was excited about the process, but in true Tyler fashion all he wanted to do was eat every piece of paper that was ripped off or that was on the floor. So mommy and daddy did the honors! A big thank you to everyone for the great gifts....Tyler is loving them!

Yummy Elmo card!

It may look like he's unwrapping, but really what he is doing is getting himself a snack!

Birthday party fun

We had our baby boy's first birthday party a few weekends ago.  (Yes I know once again Mamma is slacking on the posts!)  Needless to say the day was filled with craziness and lots of running around, but the party was a success.  We had lots of adults and babies join us to celebrate the one year mark.

The birthday boy just taking in the scene
As with most babies at their first birthday party...Tyler did not really know what was going on, or really care. All he wanted to do was play with his water table (soaking himself), hang-out with his friends & cousins and eat macaroni & cheese and cake. Overall he was a happy boy and did great considering all the confusion and excitement (as did all the other little kids!). The only rough patch was come night time when Tyler's little belly just couldn't hold all the sugar from the cake he consumed. Our poor baby boy had a vomit session all over his crib and all over Aunt Kathleen, who so kindly volunteered to put him down that night. Luckily once he got it all out of his system he was a happy little boy and went right to sleep!

Play time for all the kids! Lots of little people enjoying the "new" toys, while the parents enjoyed the beautiful weather!

Time to blow out the candles!  Tyler wondering when he's going to get a piece of the yummy cake!

Happy boy with his birthday cake.  He hasn't quite grasped that he can eat it yet........

Well he figured it out.....he ate the entire piece!  Not such a good idea based on the end of the night results, but at least he enjoyed this part of it!

Memorial Day Barbeque

We had a nice day off on Monday enjoying a barbecue with our neighbors.  Tyler was a very happy boy getting to play with his new water table (thanks Grandma and Papa) and getting to share his day of fun with "the girl from next door" Stella.  He sure does love his Stella!

Tyler is loving his new water table!

Stella and Tyler enjoying the nice weather and having a fun play date!
Daddy you're so silly!

Splish splash...

Last weekend Tyler attended his first birthday party.  It was a fun afternoon, which included pool time, cake and cheetos!  It was a great afternoon which the entire Onyon family enjoyed!

Just enjoying playtime in the pool!  Of course our little boy loved splashing around in the pool and getting everyone around him as wet as he was!

Summer loving....Tyler and the birthday girl Farrah having a little pool time fun.

Tyler's first experience with cheetos.  He worked hard to get his first cheeto....walking from one end of the pool to the other and tapping a little girl on the shoulder and giving a big smile in hopes she would share.  Unfortunately she wasn't having it, but luckily her older brother was willing to share.  Needless to say Tyler loves cheetos!

Let the birthday fun begin

Tyler and I made a trip over to Aunt Chris & Uncle Larry's last weekend for a visit.  Grandma and Aunt Nikki were there too and Tyler had a great day opening some early birthday presents and getting snuggle time with everyone.

Just kicking off my birthday celebration with another present from Grandma and Papa.  I sure am spoiled!

Snuggle time with Aunt Nikki.

Helping daddy do work

One of Tyler's favorite things is to sit with daddy while he's doing work and "help".
